Friars Look Dismal on Road, Get Trounced By Seton Hall

Providence College's Ed Cooley.

It was a tale of two point guards.

Seton Hall’s Khadeen Carrington dominated Wednesday night’s game, scoring points 23 points. He also dished out 7 assists.

Meanwhile, Kyron Cartwright, the Friars star point guard, played what is probably his worst game as a Friar. He finished scoreless, with just 2 assists.

Seton Hall won 73 to 57.

The game was over before halftime.

Kyron Cartwright had his worst game as a Friar on Wednesday night.

Seton Hall went on a 19-0 run against the Providence College Friars on Wednesday night. It was in the first half, but it basically took the Friars out of contention.

Seton Hall’s run sent the Friars into halftime with a 15 point deficit.

Alpha Diallo was the long bright spot for the Friars. He finished the game with 25 points and 10 rebounds. It was his best game as a Friar.

The loss represents the Friars’ second straight loss. The team had previously won four in a row in Big East conference play.

It simply wasn’t Providence College’s night. The team always seemed a step slow on defense. The long rebounds always fell into the Pirates’ hands. And every bounce seemed to move towards Seton Hall.

Furthermore, outside of Diallo, the Friars played an uninspired game. The team never really found any rhythm. They were dominated in every aspect of the game.

The Friars fall to 14-8 overall, and 5-4 in conference play.

Next up for the Friars is a date with the Marquette Golden Eagles on Saturday at 2:30. The Friars are hoping to get a win and wrap up their three-game road trip with a win.
