Gianinni: What’s In? What’s Out?

What’s In?

Brett Kavanaugh

Justice Kavanaugh was sworn in this week as the next Supreme Court Justice twice. In a private ceremony and in a public ceremony by Justice Kennedy who he served as a clerk under.  All eyes were on Kavanaugh, as he spoke of wanting to move on “without bitterness to work hard and to uphold the constitution of the United States. He also pledged to be a team member of the Supreme Court.

Melania  Trump

First Lady Melania Trump went to Africa on her first solo trip. There were many photos of the First Lady visiting young children across parts of Africa. She also went on a safari and took photos with elephants and zebras.  There didn’t seem to be must press about her trip until she was interviewed about her feeling of bullying.

She has stated that “ she is one of the most bullied people in America.”

Her reasons being that she is criticized a lot and in the public eye for everything she does.  It actually may be true that this woman is criticized more than many other First Ladies have ever been.  I don’t ever remember this criticism of Jackie Kennedy or Barbara Bush. Michelle Obama had some criticism but none compare to Melania Trump.  It’s like living in a fish bowl with no way out.

Hurricane Michael

The storm pushed its way into the Florida panhandle Thursday causing destruction, flooding and even death.  The total damage is still being assessed.  Prayers and thoughts are with the people who have been effected by this storm and we hope for a swift recovery.  Hurricane season isn’t over yet, so hold on to your seat, we still have a way to go.

What’s Out

The Three Stooges

It seems Gubernatorial Candidate Joe Trillo was a neighbor to House Speaker Nicholas Mattiello. About thirty years ago Trillo heard a young girl screaming, who was his neighbor, and responded to her house only to find some young teenage boys trying to bang her door down. One of them was Mattiello. Trillo said he accidentally hit him in the face while stopping him. Then Mattiello’s parents filed charges against Trillo, who said it was no big deal. Then under the good work of reporter Tim White, we learn that Joe Trillo went to trial and was acquitted of his charges. But wait, Trillo said nothing went on. And Mattiello said he really does not remember the incident. It was long ago. But he has the outmost respect for Joe.

Hey wait a minute! Hold the press! Why didn’t the press ask Mattiello “what was he doing banging on her door and why was she screaming?”  Was Mattiello reprimanded or charged for doing this? Who was the girl in question?  Why did Mattiello’s family press charges?   What was Mattiello doing there?  Inquiring minds want to know. Hey if we can go back 30 years to question Brett Kavanaugh, we certainly can question the Speaker, who is the most powerful person in the state house, right?

To add further ridicule to the situation, Trillo now admits to an incident with former Rep. Larry Earheart, who said they had a misunderstanding. Trillo said Earheart poked his fingers in his eye( three stooges style) and that Trillo slapped him back while in the state house after a meeting on boat toilet legislation. Seriously, you can’t make this stuff up.

So yes, the three stooges live on and are coming to an election ballot near you. Get ready.

Jasiel Correia

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for Massachusetts has announced that Correia has been arrested on fraud charges. The  mayor is accused of defrauding investors and using funds to pay for his “lavish lifestyle” and his political campaign. Correia claims he is innocent and will not resign. There’s more to come on this as the story unfolds.
